Guizhou Radio and TV University (the “University”) has made important contributions to the economic and social development of Guizhou, and has been recognized by the society and won praise from the public. In 2007, the University was awarded the excellent evaluation result of the “Central TV University Talent Training Model Reform and Open Education Pilot Project” by the Ministry of Education. In 2012, the University passed the evaluation of the talent training work of higher vocational colleges in Guizhou Province. In the same year, it was accredited as a model vocational college in Guizhou. In 2014, the University became the humanities and social science research base of colleges and universities in Guizhou Province. In 2016, the “Guizhou Province Community Education Guidance and Service Center” was established in the University. In 2017, the University became a provincial pilot institution for the construction of the “Credit Bank” for lifelong education in Guizhou Province. In the same year, it was accredited as a top vocational college in Guizhou, and has successively won such honorary titles as “National Advanced School of Adult Higher Education”, “National Excellent School of Adult Higher Education”, “National Advanced School of Audio-visual Education”, “National Advanced Teaching Institution of Provincial TV University", “National Advanced Institution in Spiritual Civilization Construction”, “Green University in Guizhou Province”, “Safe and Civilized Campus in Guizhou Province”, “Excellent School in University Student Ideological and Political Education in Guizhou Province”, and “Provincial Advanced Institution in Employment Creation”.

The University provides students seeking vocational education with 34 majors, which closely connect with such advantageous industries of Guizhou as the construction industry (Guizhou’s traditional advantageous industry), manufacturing industry (Guizhou’s long-term industry), tourism (Guizhou pillar industry), Internet plus, big data, cultural and creative industries. The structure of our education programs features “backbone majors as leadership, main majors as support, characteristic majors as a driving force, and emerging majors as a supplement”. We provide 2 majors whose development is funded by the central government, 4 provincial-level backbone majors, and 3 provincial-level key major groups, with the e-commerce major being accredited by the Ministry of Education as the backbone major in the Higher Vocational Education Innovation Development Action Plan. The University has invested 75 million yuan in the construction of practical training bases, with the training quality in e-commerce, tourism, aviation and other majors ranking first in Guizhou Province, and plans to invest 177 million yuan to construct the civil aviation industry-education integration training base, which has been approved by the Development and Reform Commission of Guizhou. In 2017, the University was awarded the province’s advanced institution for employment creation. In the special inspection by the State Council's inspection team in 2019, our school’s student enrollment expansion and employment promotion work has been highly recognized. The University has awarded 28 quality improvement projects in Guizhou Province, and 10 of the 17 projects that have been accepted have been awarded the excellent rating.
